William - Health & Safety Officer
William is a Health & Safety Officer with a large natural resource company. His company has addressed absenteeism, workers compensation/disability management costs, and expressed a general interest in improving the health and wellness of its employees. The company is seeking a wide-ranging, customized employee health and wellness program that will provide a significant return on investment.
The health, wellness and productivity management approach
COS would work to improve employee health, help control workers compensation/disability management costs, minimize absenteeism, improve productivity, and place a strong focus on providing a strong return for each dollar invested in our programs.
The opportunities for workplace enhancement
Once the company’s needs, wants, and goals have been established, the landscape would be assessed and a program (as outlined below) tailored to maximize the organization’s potential.
- Discovery, assessment and program design phase
- Ergonomic assessments of to minimize worker injury and maximize productivity
- Branding of all client communications consistent with company image
- Seamless integration of program communications with existing channels, campaigns, and events
- Health and wellness newsletter
- One-on-one time with a Health Professional
- Small intro package mailed to each employees’ place of residence
- Companywide communication and promotion programs
- A modest incentive of reduced employee healthcare contributions, in exchange for participation in bi-annual health and wellness screens and health appraisals
- Bi-annual health and wellness appraisals to assess, motivate, and strengthen positive changes
- Bi-annual health screens to assess, motivate, and support positive achievements
- Personal health and wellness reports
- Program summary reporting for management
- Workshop and targeted intervention programming (i.e. cardiovascular health, weight management, diabetes, cholesterol, stress management)
The risks of not addressing the workplace challenges
